2025 Tesla Model 3 Performance debuts; quicker, prices cut

The fastest iteration of the 2025 Tesla Model 3 has been revealed in the form of the Tesla Model 3 Performance. With a blistering 343kW from its dual-motor powertrain, the car can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 3.1 seconds, on its way to a 261km/h top speed.

A WLTP range of 528km is provided by a 75kWh battery pack. With a more performance oriented chassis, handling is set to be greatly improved as well, with adaptive damping featuring for the first time. 20-inch ‘Warp’ forged alloys and larger brake calipers and performance brake pads are also added.

On the 15.4-inch infotainment touch-screen, Track Mode is selectable so you can adjust stability control, regenerative braking and damper settings.

Inside, new carbon fibre trim pieces and sports seats for superior lateral support differentiate it from lower Model 3 variants. The seats also include heating and ventilation. A 17-speaker sound system and a rear display for the passengers – which was added as part of the ‘Highland’ facelift earlier this year – are also part of the equation.

Anyone hoping that the full Plaid package of the top-tier Model S might make its way to the Model 3 will have to wait patiently for now, as it is unclear whether the 760kW (1003PS) powertrain from that ballistic model will make its way to the mid-sizer.
