Jaguar has released the first official details of the interior architecture for its upcoming Type 01, an all-electric four-door grand tourer. Designed around the dedicated Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA), the cabin abandons the traditional horizontal dashboard layout in favour of a strict longitudinal format.
The interior is divided into four distinct seating zones by a prominent 3.2-metre spine that runs the entire length of the cabin. Finished with brass-inspired trim, this structural element reinforces the vehicle’s low-slung grand touring seating position. Jaguar has integrated unconventional materials throughout the interior, including travertine stone that functions as a structural plinth for the seats, paired with artisan wool-blend textiles.

A core component of the Type 01’s cabin engineering is an electronic strategy Jaguar designates as ‘control on demand’. The manufacturer has bypassed the industry trend of mounting oversized, static touch-screens. Instead, digital interfaces and storage compartments remain concealed within the dashboard and panels until activated by the occupants. Driver instrumentation is handled by a slim digital display, while a compact touch-screen rises from the central spine to manage climate and basic infotainment functions.
Due to the absence of a conventional rear window, rearward visibility is provided by exterior cameras feeding a digital ClearSight display. Unconventionally, this monitor is positioned centrally at the base of the windscreen, sitting level with the exterior door mirrors to maintain the driver’s forward line of sight.

Propulsion for the Type 01 is delivered by a tri-motor, all-wheel drive configuration featuring one front and two rear motors. This powertrain generates over 745kW of power and 1300Nm of torque. Energy is stored in a 120kWh battery pack utilising an 800-volt architecture, targeting a maximum WLTP driving range of 700km. DC fast charging is claimed to replenish 320km of range in approximately 15 minutes.
The production-spec Jaguar Type 01 is scheduled for a full public reveal in New York on October 6, 2026, with the first customer deliveries expected to commence in early 2027.
