2027 Maserati GranTurismo, GranCabrio, Grecale updates revealed

Maserati has unveiled its mid-lifecycle refresh for its GranTurismo coupe, GranCabrio convertible, and Grecale mid-size SUV for 2027. The update introduces harder-edged exterior styling drawn directly from the brand’s flagship MC20 and track-only MCXtrema supercars, alongside notable mechanical enhancements across both internal combustion and battery-electric powertrains.

The visual overhaul is defined by a more aggressive ‘shark nose’ front-end treatment. Exterior revisions include enlarged central air intakes, an optimised front splitter, modified air curtains to improve aerodynamic efficiency, and new clear-lens lighting signatures. Inside, all three models gain a new racing-inspired multifunction steering wheel, a redesigned digital clock housed within an octagonal metal bezel, and a revised capacitive-touch gear selector mechanism incorporating haptic feedback.

For internal combustion models, Maserati has heavily recalibrated its 3.0-litre ‘Nettuno’ twin-turbocharged V6. In the flagship GranTurismo and GranCabrio Trofeo variants, peak output has been increased by 30kW to a total of 440kW.

Maserati engineering executives confirmed this power gain was achieved primarily through engine management software calibration and increased turbo boost pressures, rather than requiring fundamental hardware alterations. The Grecale SUV range also expands its footprint with a new 286kW V6 Modena variant, engineered to bridge the performance gap beneath the existing 390kW Grecale Trofeo flagship.

The battery-electric ‘Folgore’ variants receive crucial mechanical updates specifically focused on thermal efficiency and operational range. The 800-volt GranTurismo and GranCabrio Folgore models now integrate a mechanical all-wheel drive disconnect system to improve highway efficiency.

This hardware physically disengages the front axle when full traction is not required, heavily reducing driveline drag and electric consumption. Consequently, the WLTP-certified driving range has increased significantly, with the GranTurismo Folgore now rated to deliver up to 542km on a single charge.

Australian specs, launch timing and prices for the updated 2027 Maserati range are yet to be confirmed. For context, the outgoing Grecale Trofeo flagship starts from $189,500 (excluding on-roads).
