Maserati previews 2027 Grecale, GranTurismo, GranCabrio updates

Maserati appears to be preparing 2027 model updates for several key vehicles, including the Grecale and GranTurismo, with a number of camouflaged prototypes recently spotted testing on public roads near the company’s headquarters in Modena, Italy.

The prototype vehicles include examples of the GranTurismo coupe, GranCabrio convertible and Grecale SUV, all featuring a camouflage wrap aimed at concealing styling revisions. Expect sharper details and lower skirting for all, and a revised front grille section. It also looks like some new wheel designs are coming in to match the refreshed theme.

As part of the mid-cycle facelifts, it’s expected Maserati will carry-over its combustions engines, including the awesome 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 ‘Nettuno’ engine. It produces 390kW in the current Grecale Trogeo. Power outputs are not likely to change much, if at all, although there could be some tweaks to fit in with the latest Euro 7 emissions targets.

Inside, Maserati will probably bring in some changes for the Maserati Intelligent Assistant interface, potentially incorporating the wider group’s STLA SmartCockpit technology. If that’s the case, expect new graphics and menu themes, and the latest software for quicker response and connectivity.

While Maserati has not confirmed any details surrounding the facelift program, the sightings suggest development work is well underway for the company’s current core lineup. The test activity follows the recent launch of the MCPura and GT2 Stradale performance models.

These updates coincide with an important period for the Italian marque, as Maserati celebrated its 111th anniversary in December 2025 and is marking several milestones throughout 2026, including 100 years since the brand’s motorsport debut and the centenary of the famous Trident emblem.

Founded in Bologna before relocating to Modena, Maserati remains one of the most recognised names within Italy’s so-called ‘Motor Valley’ – the region that is also home to manufacturers such as Ferrari and Lamborghini.

The 2027 model year GranTurismo, GranCabrio and Grecale are expected to arrive on the market later this year. More details are set to surface soon.
