Hyundai has revealed full specs and details of its second high-performance electric model, the IONIQ 6 N, while confirming its Australian arrival.
The new model is based on the epic IONIQ 5 N, featuring a similar twin-motor electrical system. Energy comes from an 84kWh battery providing a range of 487km on the WLTP cycle. That’s slightly more than the 450km offered in the 5 N.

At the rear the e-motor produces 282kW while the front e-motor develops 166kW, with a combined maximum output of 478kW in Boost mode, or 448kW in regular form. These are the same figures as the 5 N.
However, thanks to various revisions to the calibration and the more aerodynamic four-door coupe body (0.27Cd), acceleration from 0-100km/h is claimed in just 3.2 second – the 5 N is 3.4 seconds. It also offers a top speed of 257km/h.
As with the 5 N, the new IONIQ 6 N features a range of performance drive modes and gadgets to play around with, including an N Drift Optimiser function for tail-out fun, N Grin Boost, and N Launch Control.

It also comes with the awesome N e-Shift system that replicates gear ratios, but in the 6 N it has been enhanced with shorter ‘ratios’ for a punchier feel, and the N Active Sound+ has been updated to offered a more refined soundtrack.
Some enhancements have also been made to the structure and bodywork to increase rigidity over the standard model, with added weld points and adhesives, with changes to t he stabliser bar also helping to improve cornering response while reducing vibrations.

Inside, Hyundai is introducing a new N Ambient Shift Light for some visual drama when driving in shift mode, while the cabin offers all of the space and convenience of the regular IONIQ 6. There’s even an action camera mount on the ceiling.
Two digital screens run across the dash offering customisation options and the usual connectivity functions, while the driver gets a new N Pasubio steering wheel with N1 and N2 preset buttons. There’s also exclusive N pedals and sports seats, with Alcantara suede and proper leather trim.
The new model will go on sale in Australia in the first half of 2026. Prices are yet to be confirmed. See below for the full specifications and highlights:
