2025 Hyundai Inster on sale in Australia, price from $39,000

Pricing and detailed specifications have been released for one of this year’s most keenly-anticipated electric city cars coming to Australia, the 2025 Hyundai Inster EV.

The Inster will be available in Standard Range with a 42kWh battery and 71.1kW/147Nm output, and Extended Range with a 49kWh battery and 84.5kW/147Nm output. Additional variants will include Inster Cross with Sunroof ($45,000) or Inster Cross with Roof Basket (also $45,000).

2025 Hyundai Inster - rear

The zippy city car is front-wheel drive and offers 327km of range in the Standard Range, and 360km in the Extended Range. A 10.5kW AC on board charger comes standard, with up to 120kW of DC fast charging capable of taking the battery from 10-80 per cent in 30 minutes.

A battery heating system keeps the battery in good health, with the company offering an 8-year/160,000km high-voltage battery warranty as well as a standard 5-year/unlimited kilometre vehicle warranty and roadside assistance.

2025 Hyundai Inster Cross

When equipped with the nifty Roof Basket Option Pack, the WLTP range drops to 293km due to the aerodynamic impost. Acceleration across 0-100km/h takes 11.7s and 10.6 seconds, for the Standard and Extended.

Equipment levels are impressive, with the Standard Range offering a very comprehensive suite of ADAS features including lane keep assist, AEB, highway driving assist, in-cabin camera, rear cross-traffic alert and navigation based smart cruise control. 15-inch alloy wheels and wireless charging cap off a generous equipment level for the four-seater.

2025 Hyundai Inster - folding seats

The Extended Range variant adds 17-inch alloys, while the Inster Cross adds blind-spot monitoring, parking distance control, 360-degree camera, heated and vented seats, off-road oriented skid plates and bumpers, flat folding front seat backrests and smart climate control. Opting for the roof basket also gets you a smart black two-tone roof.

The new model is available to order now, with prices starting from the following (excluding on-road costs):

2025 Hyundai Inster Standard Range: $39,000
2025 Hyundai Inster Extended Range: $42,500
2025 Hyundai Inster Cross Extended Range: $45,000
