Ferrari F80 debuts in Australia at 2025 Formula 1 Grand Prix

Ferrari has pulled the covers off its latest supercar, the F80, for the first time in Australia, at the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.

The debut took place at Casa Ferrari, an exclusive trackside venue, with Scuderia Ferrari drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc making a special appearance to introduce the marque’s most powerful road car yet.

This is essentially a successor to iconic models such as the F40, F50 and Ferrari Enzo, featuring a record-setting V6 hybrid powertrain. It comprises a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 capable of revving to 9200rpm, paired with an electric motor assist combo that pushes overall output to 1200PS.

However, the V6 itself develops 662kW (900PS). For specific output, as in power per litre, it offers the highest of any Ferrari engine ever, at 220.6kW per litre. For reference, the 1103kW/1500PS Bugatti Chiron offers a specific output of 137.8kW per litre.

On the tarmac, Ferrari claims 0-100km/h in just 2.15 seconds, and 0-200km/h in a mental 5.75 seconds. The top speed is 350km/h. And to top it off, it has already set the quickest lap time around Ferrari’s own Fiorano test track in Italy for a road car, with a time of 1:15.3.

Punters having a first chance to see this machine in the metal is a real treat, especially considering just 799 are going into production. Speaking about the supercar making its Australia debut, Ferrari F1 driver Charles Leclerc said:

“It’s crazy. It’s such an incredible car. I love the look of it, and when you drive it, it feels so light. And that’s really what strikes me. I really, really enjoyed it.”

The Ferrari F80 will remain on display at Casa Ferrari, near Gate 1, for the duration of the Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend. First customer orders are set to begin later in 2025. A small batch of the 799 units are allocated to customers in Australia.
