Deepal is gearing up for a major expansion in Australia, this week confirming its all-new S05 small SUV and the unusual E07 fully electric ute. Both models are set to land in local showrooms in 2025.
The Deepal E07 will be an interesting proposition, promising a “revolutionary blend of SUV and ute” functionalities. It aims to challenge traditional vehicle categories with its multi-purpose design and capability. However, no specs have been revealed for Australia as yet regarding towing and payload.
In overseas form, called the Changan Nevo E07, the ute is offered with a 252kW single motor setup, or a 440kW twin-motor arrangement. It’s offered with a 70kWh and 90kWh battery, with range figures spanning from 550km to 650km. There’s also a hybrid version offering an EV range of 230km thanks to a 40kWh battery.
Meanwhile, the S05 will serve as a more compact and accessible entry into the Deepal range, sitting below the existing S07, offering advanced EV technology in a smaller package.
Australian buyers keen to experience the E07 firsthand will have the opportunity to do so at the Everything Electric event, running from March 7-9, at Sydney Olympic Park. Attendees will be able to test drive the E07 and see the S05 on display alongside the larger S07.
Cormac Cafolla, general manager of Deepal Australia, described the newcomers as key additions to the brand’s electrification strategy. In a statement, he said:
“We’ll be sharing more specs later this year, but I can promise you, both the S05 and E07 are going to give Aussies some exciting, practical options for stepping into the future of electric driving without compromising on style or performance.”
Full Australian specifications, powertrains, and pricing details for the S05 and E07 will be announced later this year. For now, you’ll be able to check out the new models first hand at the event next week.
