Lamborghini Urus SE makes debut in Australia

Lamborghini’s first plug-in hybrid model, the Urus SE, has officially debuted in Australia, coming in as the most powerful variant yet and the fastest SUV in its class.

The Urus SE delivers an astounding 588kW from its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 and electric motor combination, with the electric setup providing 141kW and 483Nm and the V8 belting out 456kW. A combined torque effort of 950Nm is sure to rip the tarmac.

Speaking of which, 0-100km/h is claimed in 3.4 seconds, 0-200km/h in 11.2 seconds, with a top speed of 312km/h. That makes it the fastest SUV in its class. Despite its speed, customers can also drive on electric power alone for 60km thanks to its 25.9kWh battery. Although, the V8 seems like a more tempting option.

Inside, the SE model offers a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and a new 12.3-inch touch-screen system. There’s also a wide range of customisation and options available, including via Lamborghini’s Ad Personam division. Francesco Scardaoni, Lamborghini’s Asia-Pacific director, said:

“Thanks to its ‘two hearts’, thermal and electric, the torque and power values are the highest and at the same time, it also reduces carbon emission which is in line with the sustainability goals in our Direzione Cor Tauri. Since the debut of The Urus, it has firmly established itself as Lamborghini’s global best seller, and I am confident that the Urus SE will continue to be a success in Oceania.”
