Not to be out-powered by the newcomers from China, Lamborghini has revealed its insane new Urus SE Performante. This is a more focused, more powerful version of the plug-in hybrid SUV, with revised aerodynamics and a number of chassis upgrades aimed at improving performance on both road and track.
The new flagship pairs Lamborghini’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with an electric motor to produce a colossal 596kW and 1000Nm, making it the most powerful Urus yet. Lamborghini claims the SUV can sprint from 0-100km/h in just 3.3 seconds, provided the Earth doesn’t spin backward instead, then reaching 0-200km/h in 10.8 seconds with a top speed of 312km/h.

Unlike the standard Urus SE, the Performante receives a series of weight-saving measures, including a wider use of exposed carbon fibre. The bonnet, bumpers, roof, wheel arches, side skirts and rear diffuser are all constructed from the lightweight material, while a titanium Akrapovic exhaust contributes to an overall weight reduction of 32kg. Lamborghini quotes a kerb weight of 2473kg.
The exterior also brings functional aerodynamic changes, with new bonnet vents, revised front air intakes, a larger rear diffuser and twin rear spoilers designed to increase downforce while improving cooling for the hybrid powertrain and braking system. Lamborghini says aerodynamic drag has been reduced compared with the Urus SE, while front downforce has increased by 22 per cent.
Underneath, the Performante introduces a new AURA dual-chamber air suspension system. The setup allows the suspension to vary its spring characteristics between comfort and performance driving, while separate compression and rebound control is designed to improve body control without compromising ride quality. Lamborghini says body roll has been reduced by 55 per cent compared with the previous model.

A new six-degrees-of-freedom sensor positioned near the vehicle’s centre of gravity works alongside an upgraded braking and stability control system, allowing the electronics to predict vehicle movements rather than simply react to them. Lamborghini says the result is quicker responses from the traction control, braking and chassis systems, with improved stability during high-speed manoeuvres.
The SUV also gains a Rally drive mode for loose-surface driving, joining the existing Strada, Sport, Corsa and EV settings. Like the standard Urus SE, the hybrid system can operate in electric mode for about 60km, while the 25.9kWh battery can also be recharged by the petrol engine in selected driving modes.

Inside, the cabin receives model-specific trim, additional carbon fibre detailing and new upholstery options, while the 12.3-inch infotainment system adopts updated graphics shared with the Revuelto. A dedicated telemetry function is also included for drivers planning to use the vehicle on circuit.
Lamborghini has not yet confirmed timing or pricing for the Urus SE Performante for Australia.
