2024 Lexus UX 300e update arrives in Australia, range boosted to 560km

The updated, 2024 Lexus UX 300e fully electric small SUV has arrived in Australia, bringing in a longer driving range and various tech updates.

Thanks to a larger lithium-ion battery, with a capacity of 72.8kWh, the 2024 UX 300e offers a range of 560km. That’s a big improvement over the initial model which offered around 360km. At this level it better-competes with some of the new EV SUVs that are arriving.

Two main variant lines are available in Australia, including the base Luxury and top Sports Luxury. Both feature the company’s latest 12.3-inch touch-screen media interface, offering wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto, as well as digital radio and sat-nav.

Both models also come with a heated steering wheel and outer rear seats, NuLuxe synthetic leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, heated and cooled front seats, and the full Lexus Safety System suite.

Moving up to the Sports Luxury adds leather-accented interior trim, a sunroof, head-up display, surround-view parking cameras, adaptive high-beam headlights, and unique 18-inch alloy wheels (up from 17s on the Luxury).

Power continues to be sent to a front-axle electric motor that produces 150kW and 300Nm, good for a claimed 0-100km/h time of 7.5 seconds. Speaking about the updated model, Lexus Australia chief John Pappas said:

“The UX 300e holds a special vehicle for Lexus as our first BEV, which in itself represented a significant milestone in the Lexus Electrified journey. The upgrades to our flagship small SUV now complete the UX 300 range; with a choice of the latest electric, hybrid and petrol powertrains to suit the diverse needs of our customers.”

With these upgrades comes an increase in price, as expected these days. The new model is on sale now from the following prices (excluding on-road costs):

2024 Lexus UX 300e Luxury: $79,990 (up $5990 from the 2022 version)
2024 Lexus UX 300e Sports Luxury: $88,490 (up $7799)
