Genesis unveils new GV80 Coupe for 2024, debuts e-S/C V6 turbo

Genesis has unveiled the 2024 GV80 Coupe and the facelifted GV80 large SUVs, which will go on sale in Australia in the first half of next year.

The 2024 GV80 introduces the first significant model change in over three years, promising an elevated luxury experience. The GV80 Coupe, on the other hand, balances practicality and sportiness with a touch of high-tech flair. Graeme Russell, chief brand officer of Genesis, said:

“Today, we mark an important milestone in our journey to success. As the boundaries of luxury continue to be redefined, Genesis believes that the GV80 and GV80 Coupe will cater to the ever-evolving needs of our discerning customers.”

2024 GV80

The revamped GV80 boasts upgrades that take luxury design to new heights. The front showcases an updated crest grille and signature two-line headlights crafted with MLA technology, with larger air intakes, a wide skid plate, and a Guilloché pattern for the emblem. A new chrome trim runs seamlessly through the sides, exuding power from the pouncing front to the rear bumper. Two redesigned wheel options are also added.

Inside, the GV80 showcases a ‘Beauty of White Space’ design philosophy, with a 27-inch OLED display integrating the cluster and infotainment screen, while a crystal-like shift-by-wire ensures a classy yet comfortable grip.

Quality materials and design enhancements, including the new Genesis emblem on the steering wheel and two-tone trim, further elevate the in-cabin experience. Practicality receives a boost with features like a redesigned wireless smartphone charging tray and an enlarged console cup holder.

2024 GV80 Coupe

The GV80 Coupe, inspired by the concept presented in April, offers a distinctive package that combines practicality and sportiness. It inherits the design and performance of the base model while introducing a dynamic, couple-like exterior, to take on the likes of the BMW X6.

It showcases an expanded air intake, active air flap, and four air vents in the front end. The arch-shaped Parabolic Line and low, sloping roofline provide an elegant profile. Coupe-exclusive 20- and 22-inch wheels with distinctive spokes enhance the sporty theme.

Inside, the GV80 Coupe sports a two-tone D-cut steering wheel, unique carbon garnishes, and seats with coupe-exclusive patterns and stitching. Metal accents on the brake and accelerator pedals enhance the sporty feel.

Powertains

The 2024 GV80 will be offered with two powertrain options, including a 2.5-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder producing 224kW, and a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol that continues to produce 279kW and 530Nm.

Meanwhile, the GV80 Coupe will be offered with three engine choices, including a new 3.5L turbo using a 48V electric supercharger (e-S/C), producing 309kW. Details on the other options haven’t been outlined.
