Audi Australia announces SQ5 TFSI petrol option for 2025 model

Audi Australia has announced the return of the TFSI petrol engine to its SQ5 performance SUV for the 2025 model year, offering customers the choice between petrol or diesel power. The reintroduction of the TFSI engine adds aural character and increased performance to the popular flagship.

The 2025 SQ5 TFSI is powered by a 3.0-litre turbo V6, delivering 260kW and 500Nm. This propels the SUV from 0-100km/h in just 4.9 seconds, making it the quickest SQ5 variant offered in Australia to date. Its top speed is electronically limited to 250km/h. This engine option gives drivers a more dynamic driving experience, building on the strong reputation of the SQ5 for performance and efficiency.

In addition to the new engine offering, Audi has introduced the Dynamic Black package for the SQ5 range. Priced at $2500, this package enhances the vehicle’s sporty appearance with black 21-inch Audi Sport alloy wheels, black exterior accents including the Audi rings, badging, and side mirror caps, as well as gloss black brake calipers. The package also includes carbon atlas interior inlays and massaging for the front seats for added comfort and luxury.

In Australia the 2025 model year continues with the current shape, but there is a fresh look overseas (pictured above). It is expected to arrive in Australia later in 2025, bringing in an all-new design, mild-hybrid engines, and new in-car technology compared with the current Q5 range.

For now, 2025 SQ5 TFSI starts from $119,084, aligning with the pricing of the diesel variant which has seen slight reductions due to changes in the Luxury Car Tax (LCT). The Sportback version is priced from $124,315 (all excluding on-road costs).
