MG now offers 10-year warranty on all cars, EV prices cuts announced

Those hunting value as a top priority will be interested to hear MG has announced it is offering an industry-leading 10-year warranty for its new vehicles, while also dropping the price of its ZS EV so it becomes the new cheapest EV on sale in Australia.

Starting with the warranty, MG is now matching Mitsubishi by offering 10 years warranty on its new vehicles, at a distance of up to 250,000km. The new coverage applies to all models in the showroom, from the MG3 to the MG HS. But unlike Mitsubishi, customers are not required to service their vehicles at an MG service centre. In the terms and conditions to receive the warranty coverage, MG says:

“Ensure that all services are carried out as per the MG Motor maintenance schedule set out in the Service & Warranty Booklet. Failure to perform maintenance promptly and in accordance with MG Motor’s specified service intervals will invalidate warranty coverage. Ensure all required service and maintenance is performed using materials that meet MG Motor engineering specifications.”

In related news, MG is also reducing the prices of some of its EVs (electric vehicles) – as seems to be the trend these days. The MG ZS Excite (MY23) now starts from $34,990 drive-away, making it the new cheapest EV on sale. Various price cuts have also been made for some MG4 variants.

The MG4 XPower, for example, drops from $59,990 to $55,990, making it one of the best bang-for-buck models on the market, and certainly in terms of the quickest 0-100km/h time for the money. At the entry end, the MG4 Excite 51 now starts from $37,990, down from $39,990.

“MG has been leading the charge with attainable electric vehicles since the launch of the local award-winning ZS EV and MG4, with reduced nationwide drive away pricing on some of our range Australia wide, we maintain our leadership position in this space.”

These new value-focused measures come into effect from August 1. See below for the new starting prices for the EV range:
