AUTOID creates quite possibly the perfect 2024 BMW M2; the ‘TR87’

British tuning shop AUTOID has just announced a limited edition version of the 2024 BMW M2 (G87), dubbed the TR87. If there’s a car that could cause a hardcore driving enthusiast to have a wet dream, this is it.

The TR87 package transforms the already desirable G87 M2 coupe into a track-ready beast, with significant enhancements in power, aerodynamics, and handling. You’ve probably spotted the serious aero package for starters, with aggressive front splitter and race-like rear diffuser, and big rear wing.

These parts are made from carbon fibre, like the side skirts, and have been fully tested by the bodykit department, TRE. The kit helps to generate up to 108kg of downforce at 200km/h. So it’s not just for that jaw-dropping stance, this kit is actually functional. The wheels on this show car are perfect as well.

Although the highlight is the bespoke bodykit, the powertrain also comes in for some tuning. Under the bonnet is the 3.0-litre ‘S58’ twin-turbo inline-six has been boosted to 425kW and 665Nm, from the factory 353kW/550Nm output.

This is partly thanks to a Milltek Sport OPF-back exhaust system made from stainless steel. We’re certain it would sound epic. As a result of the power lift, AUTOID claims 0-100km/h comes up in just 3.2 seconds (down from 4.0s in the standard model), with the top speed remaining limited to 250km/h.

Lastly, just in case you’re not already in the process of having one of those dreams right now, the team decided to fit up the M Performance height adjustable suspension kit. This lowers the ride height while retaining the adaptive dampers, and it’s all adjustable of course… go get some new pants.

AUTOID is offering TR87 as an aftermarket kit or as a turn-key package. Just 10 examples are being made, including the M2 donor car. Prices for the TR87 as a separate kit, if you already have an M2, start from £12,999. An optional handling package is also available from £4450 and includes the following:

  • MSS Hybrid adjustable springs (alongside the factory Electronic Damper Control)
  • Moton uniball control arm bushes (replaces existing rubber lower front thrust arm bushes with solid aluminium pillow ball system)
  • Hardrace rear toe arms
  • Millway Adjustable Camber Plates (up to 20mm of camber adjustment)
  • Fast Road Geo setup four-wheel alignment
  • Yokohama AD09 285/35 R19 front and 295/30 R20 rear tyres
