The new 2025 BMW M3 and M3 Touring are set to arrive in Australia later this year, bringing more power, fresh styling, and advanced technology to the high-performance lineup.
The 2025 BMW M3 lineup for Australia will include three variants; the rear-wheel-drive M3 sedan, the M3 Competition sedan with M xDrive, and the M3 Competition Touring with M xDrive. Each variant promises an elevated level of specification.
The most notable enhancement is the power boost for the M xDrive variants. Yep, the 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline-six has been boosted even further, now producing 390kW (up from the previous 375kW). This aligns the M3’s performance with the upcoming M4 coupe and convertible models.
Performance figures remain blistering, with the M3 Competition sedan with M xDrive sprinting from 0-100km/h in just 3.5 seconds, while the M3 Competition Touring with M xDrive achieves it in 3.6 seconds. The increased power also improves the 0-200km/h times, with the sedan taking just 11.8 seconds and the Touring taking 12.4 seconds (both 0.5 seconds faster than the predecessor).
For enthusiasts preferring rear-wheel drive, the base BMW M3 sedan continues with 353kW and 550Nm, paired with a segment-unique six-speed manual transmission. This variant remains a purist’s choice, offering a traditional driving experience against a landscape dominated by automatic gearboxes.
Styling updates across all variants include redesigned headlights and new alloy wheel designs, giving the M3 an aggressive new stance. Inside, the cabin features a new flat-bottom steering wheel, inspired by motorsport, alongside updated trim elements. The latest BMW Operating System 8.5 underpins the advanced iDrive system, with a 12.3-inch gauge cluster and 14.9-inch multimedia system, all on a curved display.
BMW Australia confirms the new model is scheduled to arrive during the fourth quarter of this year. Prices have climbed slightly, with the entry manual jumping up $2400. See below for the starting prices (excluding on-road costs):
