2025 Hyundai Staria & Staria Load now on sale in Australia

Hyundai Australia has announced a mild update for the arrival of the 2025 Staria and Staria Load vans, adding Bluelink car connectivity, more features, and minor styling revisions.

The biggest change is the introduction of Bluelink connected vehicle technology. Bluelink is Hyundai’s smartphone connectivity app that provides things such as remote control climate and other vehicle functions, send-to-car navigation, and it brings in SOS emergency call functionality, among other things.

2025 Hyundai Staria Load Bluelink

Bluelink connects with the standard 10.25-inch multimedia system on Elite and Highlander Staria models and the Staria Load Premium. The technology is free for the first five years of ownership and is transferable if the vehicle is sold within five years.

Other updates include a new 2D aluminium badge for the exterior as part of the company’s latest theme, while the interior welcomes USB-C ports, with four added to the rear in the Staria and one in the front for the Staria Load. Rain-sensing wipers are now standard on the Elite and Highlander, and Load Premium.

Hyundai is also introducing its fourth-generation key fob with the 2025 Staria, showcasing metallic finishes and a sleeker design, with a minimalistic button layout. It comes standard with the Elite and Highlander, and Load Premium.

As for safety, the new model is rated five stars by ANCAP. Hyundai has replaced its previous blind-spot collision avoidance (BCA) system with blind-spot collision warning tech instead (BCW). This is part of Hyundai’s SmartSense suite.

In terms of the powertrains, both the 3.5-litre V6 petrol and 2.2-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder continue for the Staria, with diesel only for the Staria Load. In the Staria the diesel is connected up with all-wheel drive but uses front-wheel drive in the Load.

The diesel produces 130kW and 430Nm, and the V6 develops 200kW and 331Nm. Fuel economy is rated at 10.5L/100km for the V6, and 8.2L/100km for the diesel in the Staria. The Staria Load diesel is rated at 7.0L/100km because it is a bit lighter in weight being two-wheel drive and it does without seats and so on.

According to VFACTS new vehicle registration figures, Hyundai has delivered 511 Starias so far this year (through May), making it the second-best-selling MPV in its class behind the Kia Carnival (3279). The Staria Load has hit 1508 sales in the same period, also enough for second best in its class, behind the Toyota HiAce (4487).
