Due to popular demand, MG Australia is pulling forward the launch of pre-order vehicles and demonstrator models of the MG4 XPower, so customers can check it out sooner.
MG says it is bringing forward the launch of these to arrive by the end of this month due to “unprecedented demand” for the potent new variant. It says demand has come from both customers and from the dealer network.
Earlier this month the company announced starting prices for the MG4 XPower, kicking off from $59,990 (excluding on-roads). Compared with other like-minded EVs, this price stacks up very well, especially given its performance credentials.
The XPower features a 64kWh battery that sends energy to two electric motors, front and rear. It’s the only all-wheel drive variant in the range. Max power tops out at 320kW and torque peaks at 600Nm.
In a little car like the MG4, you can imagine the sort of performance this brings. MG claims 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds, and by our calculations, you’re looking at a quarter-mile time of around 12.0 seconds. This is serious bang-for-buck value.
The suspension system is tuned specifically for the XPower, showcasing stiffer springs and stabiliser bars, and revised steering to enhance agility and feel. There’s also a set of 18-inch alloy wheels and sportier brakes.
