First second-hand Bugatti Chiron goes up for sale in the UK

One of the first-ever ‘used’ Bugatti Chiron supercars has gone up for sale in the UK, for, get this, one million pounds more than the original purchase price.

The Chiron is the new grand daddy of all production supercars, featuring one of the most exotic engines and one of the most desirable badges in the history of the motorcar. The fact that Bugatti is only making 500 examples makes it even more exclusive.

On sale at renowned supercar dealer Romans International, in Surrey, UK, the Chiron is believed to be the first second-hand version to hit the market. It’s understood the owner bought it for around £2.6 million, including some options such as a carbon fibre interior trim (£53,000) and carbon fibre front seats (£16,000).

It’s currently listed for sale at £3.6 million, which would profit the owner quite a sum considering the Chiron has only been on sale for a short time. Tom Jaconelli, director of Romans International, said:

“Although the Chiron is not yet sold out, if you place an order today you will be waiting at least three or four years before the car could be built and delivered, so we are offering the chance to ‘jump the queue’ but of course there is a hefty premium to pay for this privilege.”

What Jaconelli says does make a certain deal of sense. And before we know it, all 500 examples could be spoken for. So, if you’re in the market for a Chiron, here’s your chance. You could literally drive away in one today… so long as you have the money of course.

To give you some idea of why it is so special, the Bugatti Chiron is powered by an 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16 engine that develops a colossal 1104kW and 1600Nm. This is enough to see 0-100km/h gone in 2.4 seconds, with a yet-to-be-tested top speed estimate of 463km/h. You can head over to the Romans International website here for more info.

I like to think that I'm a car fanatic, but more of a driving fanatic. There's nothing better than getting out onto the open road, almost regardless of the car, and enjoying dancing with the controls and gathering up the moving scenery. If I'm not driving I'm either at the gym or sinking a few beers with friends.
