LDV has expanded its D90 7-seat SUV range in Australia for the 2027 model, bringing back diesel power after a two-year absence and introducing a new luxury flagship variant.
The revised lineup now consists of five variants, with petrol and diesel options and a choice of rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. To mark the launch, LDV is offering $4500 off drive-away prices until October 31, 2026, bringing the entry-level D90 Mode down to $39,174 drive-away for private buyers, or $36,990 for ABN holders.

The returning diesel is a 2.5-litre turbo four-cylinder producing 163kW and 520Nm, shared with the latest LDV Terron 9 and recently-update T60 utes. This compares with 160kW and 480Nm from the previous 2.0-litre diesel.
An eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission is standard, with diesel models offered exclusively with four-wheel drive. Braked towing capacity is rated at 3500kg, compared with 3000kg for the petrol variants. Fuel consumption for the diesel is rated at 8.1L/100km on the combined cycle.

The existing 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine continues with 184kW and 410Nm, also paired with an eight-speed automatic. Combined fuel consumption is rated at 9.1L/100km for rear-wheel drive versions and 9.4L/100km for the four-wheel-drive model.
The other major addition is the D90 LUXE diesel, which sits above the Executive grade and introduces a range of additional comfort and off-road features. Some of these include a panoramic sunroof, heated, ventilated and massaging front seats, JBL audio, a 360-degree camera, 20-inch alloy wheels with Continental tyres, and a powered tailgate with a kick sensor.

The LUXE also gains front and rear differential locks, while the Executive 4WD comes with a rear differential lock, selectable terrain modes and Crawl Control. Dinesh Chinnappa, general manager of LDV Australia, said:
“Customers have been asking for the return of diesel power to the LDV D90 ever since it was paused from our line-up two years ago. Customers have also been asking for a top-tier model, which is why we have introduced the LDV D90 LUXE diesel. With the revised LDV D90 range we are offering a wider range of price points and giving customers the choice of petrol or diesel power.”
Across the range, standard equipment includes dual 12.3-inch displays, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED lighting, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

The D90 measures 5046mm long, 2016mm wide and 1876mm tall, with a 2950mm wheelbase. Ground clearance is listed at 246mm, with a 550mm wading depth.
Interestingly, the diesel’s additional weight affects payload capacity. LDV quotes 640kg for the diesel, compared with 690kg for the rear-wheel drive petrol, and 820kg for the petrol 4WD.
LDV says the new model is available to order now, with prices starting from the following (Regular drive-away/Launch offer until October 31, 2026/ABN holders):
