Ford Australia has introduced a new 7-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty, extending coverage for new vehicles provided they are serviced exclusively through the authorised Ford dealer network.
The new warranty applies to eligible Ford vehicles retailed from September 1, 2026, covering both private and commercial customers.
The key condition is servicing. To qualify for the extended coverage, owners will need to have their vehicle serviced exclusively within Ford’s Australian dealer network, which currently consists of around 180 dealerships and more than 220 service outlets.
The move gives Ford a longer warranty period than its previous factory coverage and is designed to encourage owners to remain within the authorised servicing network. However, some rival car brands offer the same length (or more) and do not include the in-house servicing clause.
Importantly, the unlimited-kilometre provision also extends to eligible commercial customers, where annual mileage can be considerably higher than for privately-owned vehicles.
Ford announced the change as part of its wider Ford Uncovered event in Melbourne last week, where the company also launched its Ford Pro commercial vehicle ecosystem. Ford Customer Service division director Greg Davidson said:
“Our seven-year warranty is a strong commitment to our retail and commercial customers that we’ve got their backs for longer. That’s a century of trust, earned one repair, one service, one honest conversation at a time, and Ford Pro builds on that legacy to keep our commercial customers’ businesses moving.”
The warranty announcement comes as longer coverage periods have become increasingly common across the Australian new-car market, particularly among newer brands competing for buyer confidence. These brands also offer seven years or more: MG (10 years), Nissan (10 years), Mitsubishi (10), Jaecoo (8), Chery (7), Deepal (7), GWM (7), Kia (7), Skoda (7), LDV (7).
