MG has given Australians their first look at the new MG S6 EV at the 2026 Melbourne Motor Show, previewing a mid-size electric SUV that is set to broaden the brand’s local lineup beyond the MG4 and smaller MG S5.
The new model is expected to be offered here in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive forms. In local material, MG is quoting up to 530km of range on the WLTP cycle, along with a 10-80 per cent DC fast-charge in around 38 minutes.

Overseas official MG material gives a clearer idea of the hardware underneath. In Europe, the MG S6 uses a 77kWh NCM battery and a 437V electrical system, with DC charging at up to 144kW. MG also says the same battery and platform combination underpins its quoted 530km WLTP figure.
As for outputs, overseas spec models have a 180kW/350Nm single-motor rear-drive version, while a dual-motor all-wheel drive flagship develops 266kW and claims 0-100km/h in 5.1 seconds.

The rear-drive variant is quoted at 7.3 seconds for the same sprint. Whether all of those figures carry across unchanged for Australia remains to be seen, but they at least show MG isn’t aiming at the soft end of the segment.
Inside, the European-market car features a 12.8-inch central touch-screen, 10.25-inch driver display, head-up display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus physical buttons for key controls.
MG Australia has confirmed it will go on sale locally, however, final specs, timing and prices are yet to be finalised.
