Subaru has confirmed specs and price for its most powerful and quickest-ever vehicle on sale in Australia, the Trailseeker. Pre-orders are now open.
The Subaru Trailseeker will come in as kind of an electric alternative to the Outback SUV wagon, featuring a 74.7kWh CATL battery and twin electric motor setup. Combined, the system produces an impressive 280kW, making it the most powerful model Subaru has ever officially offered in the showroom.

Acceleration from 0-100km/h takes a claimed 4.5 seconds. Again, that makes it the quickest production model ever offered in Australia, even out-sprinting the best of the WRX STI models to hit Australia in terms of official claims.
Two variants are being offered locally, with the standard AWD and the AWD Touring. Both offer a range of 533km, and both are capable of recharging at 22kW using a three-phase AC plug, or up to 150kW with DC power.
Passengers are treated to a 14-inch touch-screen inside with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality, a 7.0-inch gauge cluster, dual wireless phone chargers, switchable ambient lighting modes, a surround-view camera, and power front seats.

Going for the Touring adds 20-inch alloy wheels (up from the standard 18s), a panoramic glass roof with sunshade, blue and black leather trim with seat cooling in the front, and vehicle-to-load capability at 220V/1500W.
The Trailseeker will soon be joined by the Uncharted small electric SUV, rounding out Subaru’s three-prong electric SUV lineup with the existing mid-size Solterra. Interested punters can place a pre-order now, with prices starting from the following (excluding on-road costs):
2026 Subaru Trailseeker AWD: $67,990
2026 Subaru Trailseeker AWD Touring: $73,990
