Mitsubishi Australia has revealed a new flagship version of its 4×4 ute, called the Triton Raider. It’s a locally-developed, more capable take on the latest-generation workhorse.
Created in partnership with Australian engineering firm Premcar (the same company that does the Navara and Patrol Warrior), the Raider is based on the Triton GSR dual-cab, with a focus on improving performance across the wide range of conditions. The project also marks another example of manufacturer-backed local tuning, with final assembly completed in Victoria.
At the core of the Raider upgrade is a reworked suspension package developed specifically for local conditions. Unique dampers front and rear, along with revised springs and bump-stops, aim to improve wheel control and ride quality both on and off the road. A modest lift in ride height has also been achieved, with 25mm extra at the front and 15mm more at the back, compared with the regular Triton.
The changes are supported by a new wheel and tyre combination, including Bridgestone AT002 tyres, following extensive testing. These are paired with 18-inch ROH alloy wheels finished in a distinctive bronze colour.
Mitsubishi has retained the Yamaha Performance Damper system introduced on the updated Triton GSR, designed to reduce vibration and improve overall refinement. Together with the revised suspension hardware, the setup is intended to deliver a more controlled and confident driving experience.
Visually, the Raider adopts a tougher look, with unique decals, badging and exterior highlights setting it apart from the standard range. Additional protection elements, including reinforced underbody parts and side bars, further emphasise its off-road intent.
Inside, the cabin largely carries over from the GSR grade, with a handful of bespoke touches such as branded headrests and contrast stitching to distinguish the Raider as the range-topper.
The MY26 Triton Raider is scheduled to arrive in Australian showrooms from May 2026, sitting at the top of the local Triton lineup. Prices are yet to be confirmed.
