Looking to spice up your already spicy small wagon? Well, if that wagon is the Cupra Leon VZe Sportstourer, you’re in luck. A new Extreme Package has just been announced by Cupra.
Perhaps a little ambitious in the name, the Extreme Package adds a range of extra fruit to the plug-in hybrid wagon to help improve driving capability, styling, and exclusivity. The package has, until now, only been available on the hatchback.

You get Brembo four-piston front brakes, Cup Bucket seats in the front with Enceladus Seaqual and Dinamic trimmings, ultra high-beam headlights, various dark gloss highlights inside, and a full aero package for the body including side skirts and a bigger rear spoiler.
No changes are made under the bonnet, but it’s already a cracking setup for a plug-in hybrid. It features a 1.5-litre turbo four-cylinder paired with an 85kW electric motor, combining to produce 200kW and 400Nm.
All of that is channelled through a six-speed dual-clutch automatic (yep, not CVT here), and into a front-wheel drive system. Cupra claims 0-100km/h in just 7.3 seconds, which is not far off quite serious hot hatches currently on sale. But with this, you have 470L/1045L of boot space.

The new Extreme Package is available now, priced from $7600. That doesn’t include the price of the Leon VZe Sportstourer, obviously, which starts from $69,990 (excluding on-roads).
In related news, Cupra suggests it will soon offer a PHEV version of the hatchback, as well as the new Formentor with a plug-in hybrid option. In a statement, the local arm said:
“The brand is actively expanding its PHEV offering in Australia, with the Terramar and Leon Sportstourer already part of the lineup and the next‑generation Formentor PHEV soon to be revealed. And while Cupra isn’t making an announcement today, the brand hints that the Leon Hatch PHEV may soon join the range.”
