MY2026.5 updates announced for Ford Ranger, Everest

Australia’s ute segment is on fire at the moment and Ford is not leaving anything to chance for its dominant Ranger and its SUV wagon companion, the Everest. Updates for the 2026.5 model year include new colours, new trim variants and a reshuffle of powertrains.

First and foremost, the 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6, which generates 184kW and 600Nm, is more widely available across the range, putting the 2.0-litre BiTurbo diesel out to pasture for good. The V6 can now be had in even base Ranger XL and XLS cab-chassis, Tremor and a new Wolftrack model. The Everest gains a new entry point in the form of the 2026 Ford Everest Active.

The entry 2.0-litre single-turbo diesel – so far one of the biggest demolisher of Ford’s reputation – is finally in the bin, replaced by a revised unit without the infamous ‘wet belt’ instead switching to a timing chain. It generates 125kW and 405Nm. That’s a big drop from 154kW and 500Nm offered in the outgoing BiTurbo.

Wolftrak enters the fray with ‘Zest’ accents on its nostrils, distinctive 17-inch charcoal alloys and showcases the new Traction Green colour. The Tremor, meanwhile, gets Bilstein position-sensitive shocks, more ground clearance and off-road driver aids such as Trail Turn Assist and Trail Control.
