XPeng G9L large SUV confirmed for Australia, EV and REEV

XPeng has unveiled its new G9L flagship SUV at the Paris Motor Show, confirming the large seven-seat model will join its Australian lineup with both fully electric (EV) and range-extender (REEV) powertrain options.

Measuring 5120mm long, 1998mm wide and 1788mm tall, with a 3100mm wheelbase, the G9L will be available in six- and seven-seat configurations, positioning it as a family-focused luxury SUV.

The fully electric version produces up to 430kW and 695Nm, with a 110kWh battery providing a claimed WLTP range of up to 553km. Its 800V electrical architecture supports DC charging at up to 540kW, allowing a 10-80 per cent recharge in under 12 minutes. However, such chargers are not available in Australia at the time of writing.

An alternative range-extender electric vehicle (REEV) uses a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine purely as a generator, with electric motors providing propulsion. This version develops 370kW and 695Nm, offering a claimed 0-100km/h time of 5.4 seconds. Its 63kWh LFP battery provides up to 287km of electric-only range, while combined range reaches 1200km (WLTP).

Australian prices, final specs and arrival dates are yet to be announced. The G9L will join the G6, X9 and L03 in XPeng’s expanding local range.
