Xiaomi two-door sports car spotted in China, inspired by Vision GT concept?

Images of a heavily camouflaged two-door pure electric sports car undergoing highway testing in China have surfaced, sparking speculation that Xiaomi is actively developing a production counterpart to its radical Vision GT concept. While the prototype wears no official corporate badging, the vehicle has been strongly linked to the technology giant via distinct design signatures, most notably a continuous ring-shaped red rear light bar and a teardrop fastback roofline that directly mirror the brand’s established styling language.

The test mule is dominated by aggressive, track-oriented aerodynamic hardware. The most prominent structural addition is a massive swan-neck fixed carbon fibre wing bolted directly to the rear decklid. This is paired with a large, multi-layered aerodynamic rear diffuser, racing-style alloy wheels, and high-performance yellow brake calipers.

Industry assessments suggest the two-door platform could serve as the production debut for Xiaomi’s extreme 2054hp quad-motor powertrain; a hyper-engine configuration utilsing dual proprietary V8S electric motors. To support this immense mechanical output, the vehicle’s architecture reportedly incorporates an upgraded thermal dissipation network designed specifically to manage battery cell temperatures and prevent thermal throttling during sustained high-speed circuit use.

Dynamically, the sports car is expected to use a fully active intelligent chassis framework running on a 48-volt digital electrical distribution network. This advanced setup deploys independent 4.6kW power sources at each wheel station, enabling real-time damping adjustments to actively neutralise roll forces during high-speed cornering. Core mechanical functions are also anticipated to shift to a software-driven steer-by-wire structure to optimise efficiency and adaptability.

The unreleased two-door model is set to be positioned above Xiaomi’s current flagship four-door variant, the SU7 Ultra, which carries a domestic starting price of 529,900 yuan. While Xiaomi’s electric vehicle division has officially targeted the second half of 2027 to initiate its overseas commercial launch into European markets, local Australian availability remains entirely unconfirmed at this point.
