Another day, another major leak dropping on Instagram. This time, the covers are off the all-new fully electric 2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
Just ahead of its global debut on April 20, these shots give us a clear look at Stuttgart’s new mid-sizer, and there are some serious visual tweaks to unpack, including an awkward new front grille that looks too upright and too big for the rest of the body.

Another major change is the daytime running lights, which now feature an intricate, star-shaped graphic. This a bold nod to the brand’s iconic three-pointed star that mirrors the detailing we’ve seen in recent EQ models.
Around the back, the taillights carry over that same star-motif lighting signature, neatly tying the whole exterior together, with a swept-over profile making it look more sporty than any of its predecessors. In saying that, it does depart further away from the traditional three-box sedan layout, opting for a four-door coupe theme instead.

Inside, official images reveal this is basically a baby S-Class. There’s a massive MBUX infotainment interface, consisting of a screen that spreads the entire width of the dash. It is definitely got wow-factor, but for those who still crave the satisfying, tactile feedback of analogue dials and proper physical buttons, this relentless push towards a fully digital, screen-heavy environment might be a bitter pill to swallow.
Under the skin, the new model will feature a fully electric powertrain setup, with a variety of power and range levels expected. Since this will be the new C-Class, it is likely to boast some impressive numbers.
For local buyers, the C-Class has always been a heavyweight in the executive sedan segment. With BMW’s 3 Series remaining fiercely competitive, this tech-heavy new model could be an interesting turning point as more buyers move to electric.
Official details, including local specs and prices, will be announced soon.
UPDATE: Mercedes-Benz has now officially unveiled the new model. In top-spec C 400 4Matic form it comes with a twin-motor AWD system developing 360kW, capable of 0-100km/h in a claimed 4.1 seconds. It also offers a WLTP range of 760km from its 94.5kWh battery.
