2026 Renault Scenic E-Tech on sale in Australia, up 625km range

Renault Australia has opened the order books for its all-electric Scenic E-Tech electric SUV, marking the return of the Scenic nameplate after a 15-year hiatus. The stylish five-seat SUV ushers in a new era for the French brand locally.

The Scenic E-Tech is available in two battery sizes and two power outputs, both driving the front wheels. The base Techno EV60 uses a 60kWh battery and 125kW motor for a claimed 430km range, while the Techno Long Range EV87 and Esprit Alpine EV87 feature an 87kWh battery, producing 160kW and offering up to 625km (WLTP) range.

All versions support high-speed DC charging, with the larger pack capable of 150kW peak rates. Acceleration across 0-100km/h is claimed in 8.6 seconds in the EV60 and 7.9 seconds in the EV87.

Renault Australia general manager Glen Sealey said the Scenic E-Tech represents the beginning of a broader revitalisation program for the brand. In a statement, Sealey said:

“Earlier this year we announced Renault Australia would introduce six new or updated models over the next 18 months. The Renault Scenic E-Tech is just the start of our revitalisation program and we are delighted to be able to introduce this award-winning car in Australia.”

Inside, all variants feature a tech-focused cabin centred around a 12-inch vertical infotainment screen with embedded Google services, voice assistant, and over-the-air software updates. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone charging, and multiple USB-C ports are also standard.

The Esprit Alpine flagship adds a sportier flavour, with exclusive styling cues, 20-inch alloy wheels, Alpine badging, and upgraded interior trim featuring synthetic leather and Alpine stitching. It also includes powered and massaging front seats, driver face recognition, and a Harman Kardon premium audio system.

Adding to the French personality, the SUV’s sound design – both interior audio modes and the external pedestrian warning tone – were developed by legendary composer Jean Michel Jarre.
