Ford has officially revealed prices for its 2026 Ranger Super Duty cab-chassis range, kicking off from $82,990 excluding on-road costs. Designed to take on the harshest tasks and terrains, the Super Duty series aims to introduce a new benchmark in capability for mid-size utes/trucks sold in Australia.
Initial prices and specs are being presented for single-, super-, and double-cab-chassis body styles, each offering big payload and towing capacities over the respective regular Ranger models. For example, they all offer a 4500kg braked towing capacity (with genuine Ford towing equipment), and up to 8000kg gross combined mass (GCM), and a gross vehicle mass of 4500kg (GVM).
Payloads are equally impressive, with the single-cab rated up to 1982kg, the super-cab at 1896kg, and double-cab at 1825kg. These are among the highest payloads for a passenger vehicle in Australia.
Under the bonnet is Ford’s familiar 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel, but here it’s retuned specifically to meet European EUVI heavy-duty emissions standards, and continues to use AdBlue. Power is reduced from the standard Ranger models, dropping from 184kW to 154kW, but a healthy 600Nm remains.
Interestingly, Ford has introduced a more efficient cooling system that promises 25 per cent better cooling, according to Ford.
Ford has also equipped the Super Duty variants with a host of practical hardware enhancements, including upgraded axles, an integrated snorkel, differential locks front and rear, and on-board scales for precise load management. A widened track (1710mm), generous ground clearance (up to 299mm), and 850mm water-wading depth provide serious off-road credibility.
Ford Australia says further details, including full dimensions and configurations, will be announced closer to launch next year. Pricing for the cab-chassis range is as follows (excluding on-road costs):
2026 Ford Ranger Super Duty single-cab-chassis: $82,990
2026 Ford Ranger Super Duty super-cab-chassis: $86,490
2026 Ford Ranger Super Duty double-cab-chassis: $89,990
