Isuzu Ute Australia recently hit a sales milestone, celebrating 352,869 D-Max and MU-X examples sold locally as of October 31, 2024. The figure is made up of 250,789 D-Max sales since its 2008 debut and 102,080 MU-X deliveries since its 2013 launch.
The D-Max remains as a strong contender in the competitive ute market, currently sitting as the fourth best-selling vehicle in Australia outright so far this year (through October, according to VFACTS). It’s also ranking third in the one-tonne ute category. Between January and October 2024, 25,644 D-Max examples have been delivered.
Meanwhile, the MU-X seven-seat SUV has continued to appeal to buyers, setting a new annual sales record of 15,584 units so far this year, surpassing the previous high of 14,139 units in 2023.
These milestones coincide with a strong year for the Australian automotive market. Industry-wide sales surpassed the one million mark in October, with Isuzu ranking in eighth spot overall with 41,228 deliveries. Junta Matsui, managing director of Isuzu Ute Australia, said:
“From our humble beginnings in 2008 to becoming one of the most trusted and capable vehicle brands on the market, over 350,000 Isuzu D-MAX and MU-X on Australian roads is proof of how far our vehicles have evolved over the years, earning a place in the lives of hundreds of thousands of Australians who rely on our vehicles every day.”
As such, Isuzu Ute Australia looks like it will post a record year for sales by the end of December. Last year it posted around 5000 sales in November and about 4000 in December, which means it could surpass 50,000 units for 2024 if the remaining two months are strong.
