In a blend of history and art, Rolls-Royce has unveiled a very special Phantom Scintilla Private Collection edition. This is a limited run model that pays homage to the iconic Spirit of Ecstasy. Limited to just 10 units globally, the special edition is described as an exclusive work of art, that has been meticulously crafted to an extent that we’d only expect from Rolls-Royce.
The Phantom Scintilla’s design draws inspiration from the legendary Greek sculpture, the Winged Victory of Samothrace. This classical piece, which once inspired the creation of the Spirit of Ecstasy figurine on the front of all Rolls’ models, finds new life in the Scintilla’s bespoke features.
The exterior, a two-tone combination of Andalusian White and Thracian Blue, mirrors the shimmering waters surrounding the island of Samothrace, while the hand-painted Coachline and pinstripes on the wheels in Spirit Blue add an elegant touch.
Inside, the Phantom Scintilla is all about stunning craftsmanship and creativity. The intricate embroidery that adorns the doors and seats comprises an astonishing 869,500 stitches, making it the most complex interior ever seen in a Rolls-Royce. The decor has been designed to envelop passengers in a continuous wave.
A standout feature is the ‘Celestial Pulse’ gallery artwork across the dash, which is a glorious display of seven ribbons milled from solid aluminium, finished with the same fine-grained ceramic as the Spirit of Ecstasy figurine.
The centrepiece, combined with the animated Starlight Headliner, creates a celestial atmosphere that enhances the sense of motion and fluidity throughout the cabin. In other words, this isn’t your average car.
Chris Brownridge, CEO at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, said the collection “honours our enduring muse, the Spirit of Ecstasy, and is the perfect expression of the principles that define our brand.”
All 10 Phantom Scintilla models have been sold out and allocated to clients through Rolls-Royce’s Private Office network. No doubt, these will be cherished by collectors around the world for generations to come.
