BMW’s exclusive Alpina brand has confirmed local details for the X7-based XB7 Manufaktur super-luxury SUV, which lands in Australia as part of the 2025 model update.
Firstly, power comes from a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine that soothingly belts out 457kW and 800Nm. That’s pretty much BMW M territory, and as a result, 0-100km/h is claimed in just 4.2 seconds, with 0-200km/h coming up in 14.8 seconds.
To help ensure the SUV handles the power, Alpina has come up with its own air suspension technology with selectable modes, as well as eye-popping lightweight brakes with cross-drilled discs and unique pads, with bespoke blue-painted calipers.
Drivers can toggle between different ride height settings thanks to that air suspension, moving the body up and down by 40mm. In the sport modes or when the vehicle is travelling above 160km/h the ride height automatically drops by 20mm to help with stability and aero, and by 40mm if travelling at 250km/h or more. The top speed is 290km/h.
The Alpina XB7 Manufaktur is not just about speed and power, though, it’s about elite craftsmanship and attention to detail. And, of course, high end luxury. As such, the big majestic beast showcases exclusive Lavalina leather package covering the dash, steering column and gauge cluster, with optional massage front seats and a ‘Sky Lounge’ panoramic roof, with a pampering six-seat configuration also available.
Other highlights include Alpina Walnut Nature anthracite trimming, special floor mats with leather piping, CNC-machined aluminium paddle shifters, an Alpina mat for the boot area, and a set of 23-inch forged wheels in the iconic Alpina Classic design.
