2025 Ford Ranger Tremor limited edition announced in Australia

Just in case there weren’t enough ute options in the market right now, Ford Australia has announced another iteration of its popular Ranger for the 2025 model, called the Tremor.

Based on the Ranger Wildtrak X, the Tremor is a special edition aimed at offering the rugged appeal of the Wildtrak X, but with unique styling cues and interior treatments. It also takes some inspiration from the Ranger Sport by going for a more subtle theme than the X.

To ensure serious off-road capability, the Ranger Tremor comes with the same wide-body package as the Wildtrak X, with the track width increased by 30mm. There’s also the full suspension package with Bilstein position-sensitive dampers and external reservoirs, with 26mm extra ground clearance.

Also helping off road, the Tremor comes with 17-inch ‘Asphalt’ alloy wheels in black, wearing General Grabber AT3 all-terrain tyres. These are enveloped by a set of wheel arch extensions. New springs help to provide that additional ground clearance.

Other highlights include heavy-duty electric power steering with a guard plate, Tremor badges, a Conquer Grey hero colour, aluminium side steps, LED lights for the honeycomb grille, a long sports bar, and a front bash plate made from steel.

Power comes from the 2.0-litre bi-turbo four-cylinder diesel engine developing 150kW and 500Nm, connected up to a 10-speed auto transmission. The V6 diesel is not available with the Tremor.

It also gets the full-time four-wheel drive system with a 4A mode, Trail Turn Assist for turning in tight spots, and Rock Crawl and Trail Control modes. Ambrose Henderson, Ford Australia marketing director, said:

“Ranger Tremor builds on the success of the popular Wildtrak X, offering the same enhanced capabilities, making it ideal for tough Australian conditions. The Tremor takes the highlights of Wildtrak X and combines them with the Sport series, resulting in a more budget-friendly off-road warrior that’s ready-to-go for the adventures that hard-working Aussies love.”

Just 1150 examples are going up for grabs, with prices starting from $69,690 (excluding on-road costs). Deliveries are scheduled to start in September.
