Ferrari has revealed the latest chapter in its front-engined supercar lineage in the form of the 2025 Ferrari 12Cilindri.
You don’t need to be a linguistics expert to guess the name is Italian for ’12 Cylinders’ – signifying something that is an increasing rarity in the fast-approaching electrified era.
Succeeding the 812 Superfast, the 12Cilindri has a 20mm shorter wheelbase than its predecessor at 2700mm. Styling is dramatic, but incorporates some familial elements from the Roma, and a front end treatment which recalls the 1968 Ferrari Daytona.
The 12Cilindri is powered by a new V12 engine dubbed the F140HD, which is the latest in a lineage which began with the Ferrari Enzo. Generating 610kW at a stratospheric 9250rpm and 678Nm at 7250rpm, the direct-injected, 65-degree V12 is a masterpiece. It sports new titanium conrods, which are two per cent lighter than the ones found in the 812 Competizione. Unbelievably, the new engine can meet the stringent Euro 6e standards.
Performance for the 1560kg supercar is startling, with 0-100km/h in 2.9 seconds, 0-200- in 7.9 and a terminal velocity of 340km/h. Putting the power to the ground are 275/35ZR21 front and 315/35ZR21 rear tyres, in Michelin Pilot Sport S5 or Goodyear Eagle S1 flavour. It is rear-wheel drive.
Although the car is a development of the 812, it boasts 15 per cent more torsional rigidity, with carry-over rear-wheel steering system further optimised for additional rigidity. Electronically, the 12Cilindri boasts a brake-by-wire system from the 296GTB and a six-axis vehicle motion controller, as well as a recalibrated DSC system with learning speed increased by 10 per cent.
The car can develop 50kg of downforce at 200km/h thanks to active aerodynamics. Flaps at the rear corners and the lip spoiler can move in accordance with speed.
Internally, there are three screens – one for the instrument panel, one for the infotainment, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and one for the passenger.
The car is expected to arrive in 2026, in both coupe and open-top Spider form. We’ll bring you more details on local prices and specs as they come to hand. See below for the key specs:
