Lamborghini has reset its global sales record for yet another year, again, with 2023 results revealing an incredible 10 per cent increase compared with year 2022 sales.
The illustrious Italian marque delivered 10,112 vehicles around the world during 2022. This is the first time the company has surpassed 10,000 units. That’s up from 9233 vehicles in 2022, which was also a record at the time.
In terms of what market regions contributed the most, America made up 3465 of those. That was also a record in itself for that market, with 3000 coming from the USA. Germany was the second largest market in terms of demand, reporting 961 sales, followed by China with 845 units.
As for greater whole regions, the EMEA sector contributed 3987 units (up 14 per cent), and the APAC Asia Pacific area made up 2660 deliveries. All three areas, including the Americas, experienced a best-ever result in 2023. Stephan Winkelmann, chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, said:
“It’s a true source of pride for the whole company to have surpassed the 10,000-car delivery mark… But as always, we’re not stopping at single milestones, and we’re ready to take on more exciting new challenges in 2024.”
The Urus SUV was the most popular around the world, making up 6087 units, followed by of course the Huracan, with 3962 sales. The final 63 units comprised of V12 models, including 51 bespoke packages. It will be interesting to see how things go with the Huracan’s replacement, expected to debut later this year.
In Australia, Lamborghini delivered 241 vehicles. That’s up 36.9 per cent on the previous year’s result. The most popular model here wasn’t the Urus. Instead, the two-door sports cars (VFACTS doesn’t provide specific model names) were most popular, with 159 sales.
Going forward, Lamborghini has the new Revuelto on the horizon, and there’s its first fully electric model, as previewed by the Lanzador concept, coming in by around 2028. The company will also launch the next-gen Huracan and the Urus hybrid in the not-too-distant future.
