Genesis Australia is introducing the slightly updated G70 sedan and Shooting Brake for the 2024 model, bringing in light styling tweaks, more technology, and a revised lineup.
Just two versions are hitting Australian showrooms, with the 2.0T Shooting Brake Sport Line Luxury and the 3.3T Sport Luxury sedan. Unfortunately, locals miss out on the 2.5-litre turbo engine option added overseas, similar to the unit that powers the Sonata N Line.
Instead, the 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder is retained and continues to produce 179kW and 353Nm. It’s paired with an eight-speed automatic with rear-wheel drive, and features a limited-slip differential, Brembo brakes, and new-look 19-inch alloy wheels wearing 225/40 front and 255/35 rear Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres.
Stepping into the 3.3T sedan gets you the 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 engine generating 274kW and 510Nm, also paired with an eight-speed auto and rear-wheel drive. It, too, comes with a limited-slip differential and Brembo brakes, while the wheels are updated to the new design and come wrapped in the same performance tyres.
New for the 2024 model, the Shooting Brake welcomes Intelligent Speed Limit Assist with speed sign recognition, as well as new Genesis badges that follow the company’s latest logo theme. The 3.3T sedan adds in Connected Car Services, over-the-air updates, a 6.0-inch climate control touch panel, and two USB ports in the back.
Genesis says the suspension has been fine-tuned for the updated model, with a next-gen Electronic Control Suspension system promising enhanced comfort, driver engagement and road-holding. The setup also offers reduced damping lag, improved control logic and a wider damping force window.
