Jamberoo Mountain Road – 2019 Subaru BRZ | Driving Roads (video)

The 2019 Subaru BRZ is a great little rig to scoot up a mountain road. Which is exactly what we’ve done for our latest Driving Roads video. Given the Subaru BRZ/Toyota 86 has been around for some time now you probably already know that it comes with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that beats in a boxer formation. It also comes with a chassis that’s very responsive to enthusiastic driving.

The latest model produces 152kW and 212Nm. It’s no rocket, if you go by its 0-100km/h time of 7.4 seconds, but numbers don’t always tell the true story of a sports car. This car is about agility and, most of all, having fun. And as you’ll hear in the video, it doesn’t sound too bad either.

We chose Jamberoo Mountain Road because it’s a mix of wide open stretches, great scenery, and twisty sections. Oh, and there’s a pie shop at the end – who doesn’t love a meat pie on a cold day. Robertson Pie Shop is somewhat of a landmark for bikers and car enthusiasts. We also hear Southern Rise Bakery is another great pie shop in Robertson! Be sure to check them out and share the pastry love.

In the video we unclipped the GoPro to give you a peek from the Jamberoo lookout. This is a great spot to watch the sun burst over the horizon, provided you can manage to get up that early.

Lastly, if you do take a drive on this road keep an eye out for motorcyclists and cyclists. And also take care if it’s been raining because the road can be quite slippery in wet conditions. Anyways, we won’t bother you with more waffle. Sit back and enjoy the drive!
