Following the record-breaking turnout of 2025, which coincided with the manufacturer’s official 100th-anniversary celebrations in Australia, overall attendance for the 2026 event was predictably slightly down, but still high at over 8000 attendees. However, the sheer volume of metal on display remained staggering. A total of 1604 vehicles passed through the gates, a modest dip from the 1800-strong showcase of the centenary year, yet easily enough to maintain the event’s status as a premier single-make automotive gathering in Australia.
The slight reduction in outright volume arguably improved the spectator experience, allowing for better display spacing and the introduction of several new exhibits. Crucially, the 2026 field featured a highly diverse range of vehicles, allowing us to capture several rare builds and classic restorations that we simply missed during the slightly more crowded turnout of last year.
While contemporary imported Mustangs and Rangers were heavily represented, the core of the 2026 gallery undeniably belonged to the Australian-built Falcon, Fairlane, and LTD families. From meticulously restored chrome-bumper XW and XY GTs to highly modified, turbocharged Barra-powered FG X variants, the preservation of these models highlights a unique cultural phenomenon. Instead of fading into obscurity, the reverence for these domestically engineered vehicles has only intensified over the past 10 years. Lasers, Cortinas and Sierras meant there was something for every kind of appetite.
