Geely EX2 price confirmed to start from $26,490 in Australia

Geely has confirmed the starting price and specifications for its incoming EX2 light electric hatchback, scheduled to land in Australia by late July 2026.

The budget-focused model arrives with strong market momentum, having finished 2025 as the world’s highest-selling small EV and the top-selling vehicle in its domestic Chinese market. The local range comprises two rear-wheel-drive variants; Complete and Inspire.

The entry-level EX2 Complete is propelled by a single rear-mounted electric motor producing 60kW of power and 150Nm of torque, drawing energy from a 35.3kWh liquid-cooled lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery. This combination delivers a claimed range of 252km under the WLTP testing cycle. DC rapid charging speeds top out at 60kW, while the onboard AC charger is limited to 6kW.

Stepping up to the flagship EX2 Inspire introduces a larger 47.1kWh LFP battery and a more powerful 85kW and 150Nm electric motor, extending the WLTP range to 345km and raising the maximum DC fast-charging rate to 80kW. A national launch promotion running until August 31 bundles a free 7kW home charging unit, a premium paint upgrade, and a 0.68 per cent comparison finance rate over a 36-month term.

Structurally, the EX2 is underpinned by Geely’s global modular GEA platform, notably adopting a multi-link independent rear suspension setup instead of the cheaper torsion-beam arrangements typical of budget cars.

Australian vehicles receive a localised chassis and steering tune developed in collaboration with Geely Technology Europe. The rear-drive layout enables a wide 41-degree front wheel articulation angle, yielding a tight 9.9-metre turning circle. Sounds pretty drift friendly to us?

Inside, standard technology across both grades includes a 14.6-inch central multimedia touch-screen with smartphone mirroring, alongside an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster. Practical storage is a priority, highlighted by a 70-litre frunk (front boot), a 375-litre main boot, and 28 litres of under-seat storage.

Standard safety kit includes seven airbags, AEB, adaptive cruise control, and evasive manoeuvre assist, while the Inspire adds a 360-degree camera, heated front seats, and a power tailgate. Prices start from the following (excluding on-road costs):

2026 Geely EX2 Complete RWD: $26,490
2026 Geely EX2 Inspire RWD: $30,990
