The small car class will soon welcome a new electric contender, in the form of the Geely EX2 which has been confirmed to arrive in Australia in 2026.
It will join the existing EX5 and Starray in the local showroom, offering cute city-car proportions with impressive in-car practicality. Like the EX5, the EX2 is a fully electric model, but with rear-wheel drive. Yes, a small rear-wheel drive hatchback.

Australian specifications are yet to be finalised. Overseas, the EX2 is offered with 30kWh and 40kWh battery sizes, with driving ranges between 310km and 410km. The most powerful version develops 84kW and offers a top speed of 135km/h, according to Wikipedia. However, it is pretty light in weight for an EV, tipping the scales at around 1250kg.
Measuring 4135mm long, 1805mm wide, and 1580mm tall, with a 2650mm wheelbase, it is similar in dimensions to the Mazda CX-3, only slightly wider and taller, but not as long yet with 80mm extra in the wheelbase. That gives you an idea about interior space and practicality.

Geely says there are over “30 thoughtfully placed” storage options, including a front boot, big centre console buckets, and door pockets. The interior also showcases a 14.6-inch touch-screen stuck on the dash, with very little in the way of physical buttons except down on the console.
The Geely EX2 is scheduled to go on sale in Australia in the second half of 2026. More details, including prices and specs, will be announced in the coming months.
