Chery has unveiled what it calls the world’s first ‘7-seat transformable multi-SUV’, at the 2025 Chery User Summit in Wuhu, China. The new model, due for global release in 2026, rethinks the traditional family SUV formula with six configurable layouts designed to suit almost any lifestyle scenario.
Built around the brand’s new “6=1” philosophy, the vehicle allows its seats and rear hatch to be rearranged or detached entirely, turning one SUV into six distinct body and interior configurations. These include a full-size seven-seat layout, a pickup-style cargo hauler, and a camper mode equipped for extended outdoor stays.

In its largest form, the SUV measures 4.9 metres long with an interior height of 1284 mm, allowing children to stand upright. Elderly passengers can enter and exit without stooping, while the rearmost area can convert to a flat load floor or sleeping surface.
In pickup configuration, a quick-release rear module opens 600 litres of cargo space, featuring tie-down points and adjustable dividers. Camper mode supports roof tents, awnings and external power supply systems, aimed squarely at the adventure market.
The project was developed through Chery’s “co-creation” program, involving 20 product experts who gathered user input across multiple regions over the past 300 days.

Production is expected to begin ahead of a 2026 global rollout, though Australian timing is yet to be confirmed.
Locally, Chery’s current SUV lineup includes the Omoda 5, Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8, all of which have contributed to the brand’s strong return to Australia.
