A sleek new electric hatchback has been revealed at the IAA Mobility show in Munich, in the form of the 2026 Leapmotor B05.
It’s a Volkswagen ID.3-sized hatch, sitting atop the company’s LEAP 3.5 platform, which is also used by the B10 SUV.

Dimensionally, the B05 is a compact vehicle with a decent footprint. It measures 4430mm in length, 1880mm in width, 1520mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2735mm.
The sporty C-segment hatchback has frameless doors and 19-inch “Swift-Wing” alloy wheels, going nicely with an overall attractive design. To our eyes, we think it’s the best-looking Leapmotor to date.
The vehicle measures 4430mm in length, 1880mm in width, and 1520mm in height, with a 2735mm wheelbase. While exact powertrain details for the B05 are unconfirmed, it is expected to mirror the B10 SUV, with a single electric motor producing 160kW.

Two battery options are anticipated; a 56.2kWh pack providing a WLTP range of approximately 361km, while a larger 67.1kWh pack could deliver up to 434km on a single charge. Both are set to support DC fast charging at up to 168kW.
The front end incorporates neatly arranged LED lights and bears a passing resemblance to the VW Golf. No word on whether the B05 is destined for Australia yet but stay tuned.
