800hp Bovensiepen 05 GT revealed, based on M5 wagon

Bovensiepen, the newly established automotive firm founded by the original creators of Alpina, has revealed the 05 GT. This is a high-performance wagon based on the G90 BMW M5 Touring platform. This marks the brand’s second model release following the M4-based Zagato coupe.

The 05 GT shares its core powertrain architecture with the BMW M5, utilising the S68 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 combined with a plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) system. While the electric motor’s output remains unchanged, Bovensiepen engineers have recalibrated the internal combustion engine software, installed an optimised air intake funnel, and fitted a titanium Akrapovic exhaust system. These modifications elevate the total system output from the standard M5’s 535kW to 589kW (800hp), with peak torque reaching 1100Nm.

Power is delivered through an eight-speed automatic transmission into a configurable all-wheel-drive system. Bovensiepen claims the 2555kg estate can accelerate from 0-100km/h in under 3.6 seconds, achieving a governed top speed of 305km/h.

Chassis dynamics have been fundamentally revised to differentiate the 05 GT from its donor vehicle. The standard BMW M Adaptive dampers have been retuned and paired with unique Eibach springs and new strut-tower braces to alter the vehicle’s roll centre and mechanical grip. It also uses a square (same width) wheel setup, featuring 21-inch lightweight forged alloy wheels wrapped in bespoke Pirelli tyres stamped with a unique ‘BOV’ designation.

The exterior design, penned by automotive designer Frank Stephenson, replaces the aggressive styling of the M5 with a more subdued aerodynamic profile. Highlights include completely redesigned front and rear bumpers, reshaped side skirts, and a new rear spoiler extending from the roofline.

Jumping inside, the 05 GT retains the M5’s structural layout but with upgrades to the materials and surfaces, with bespoke Lavalina leather upholstery, a handcrafted steering wheel, and milled aluminium shift paddles.

Production of the 05 GT will be strictly limited to 200 units annually at the brand’s historic Buchloe facility in Bavaria. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of 2026, with European pricing starting from €198,900.
