2027 Volvo EX60 specs confirmed for Australia, price from $86,990

Volvo Australia has confirmed local pricing and initial details for the new all-electric EX60 mid-size SUV, ahead of its local arrival late in 2026.

This is essentially the electric alternative to the XC60. It will launch in two variants, with the rear-wheel drive Ultra P6 and flagship Ultra P10 all-wheel drive. Both are underpinned by Volvo’s next-generation SPA3 electric vehicle platform and introduce a range of new technologies for the Swedish brand, including upgraded battery architecture, new in-house electric motors and what Volvo describes as its most advanced software system yet.

Going for the entry-level EX60 Ultra P6 RWD gets you an 83kWh battery which offers up to 610km of range on the WLTP cycle. Stepping up to the Ultra P10 AWD brings in a larger 95kWh battery and a claimed range of up to 660km.

Performance is also significantly stronger in the dual-motor AWD flagship, producing 375kW and 710Nm for a claimed 0-100km/h sprint in 4.6 seconds. The RWD completes the same benchmark in 5.9 seconds.

Volvo says the EX60 has been designed with a focus on aerodynamics and efficiency, featuring a low nose, tapered body sides and a coupe-inspired roofline. The company claims a drag coefficient of just 0.26 – very low for an SUV.

Inside, the cabin adopts Volvo’s latest Scandinavian-inspired design philosophy, combining minimalist styling with sustainable materials and an emphasis on practicality. A long wheelbase and flat-floor layout are there to improve rear passenger space, while plenty of storage areas have been integrated throughout the cabin.

Technology is another major focus, with the EX60 becoming the first Volvo model to feature Google’s new Gemini AI assistant integrated into the infotainment system. Volvo says the updated software platform delivers faster response times, smoother operation and improved voice control functionality compared with previous systems.

The EX60 will also be the first Volvo to offer Apple Music with Dolby Atmos support built in, paired with a 28-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system. Headrest-mounted speakers are fitted to all four outer seating positions.

Safety remains central to the EX60 package, with the SUV introducing Volvo’s latest-generation sensor suite and upgraded driver assistance technologies. The model also debuts a new adaptive front-seat safety belt system designed to tailor restraint operation more precisely to occupants and crash conditions.

Both local variants come heavily equipped as standard, including 21-inch alloy wheels, an electrochromic panoramic roof, rear privacy glass and integrated child booster cushions. The flagship Ultra P10 AWD adds ventilated Nappa leather trim and an active suspension system.

Volvo says the EX60 has also been engineered for continuous over-the-air software updates, allowing new features and improvements to be added throughout the vehicle’s lifespan. Eight exterior paint colours will be available at launch, including the new Forest Lake and Heather Bronze finishes. See below for the starting prices (excludes on-roads). They arrive late in 2026.
