For Sale: RE Amemiya Lotus Europa with 20B rotary conversion

RE Amemiya is one of Japan’s most revered rotary engine tuning shops, having spat out some of the most outrageous Dorito-powered cars the world has ever seen. Examples of this are the 500hp RE-Amemiya GReddy AZ-1 and some of the most famous FD RX-7s ever fettled.

Here’s one we didn’t even know existed; a 20B rotary-powered Lotus Europa with Porsche 993 headlamps, Martini stripes, a tasteful wide bodykit, carbon fibre bonnet and Enkei RPF1 17-inch alloy wheels.

The 20B engine developed 206kW and 407Nm in twin-turbo form when it was installed in the Eunos Cosmo, but this version is naturally aspirated. It’s paired with a Subaru five-speed manual running an Ogura clutch.

These things can still develop insane power without forced induction, and it’s worth remembering the Europa weighs between 610 and 710kg. It should be quicker than the 60kW Renault engine it first came with.

With a Spaco steering wheel and VDO instruments, the 20B Europa would be an extremely special car to own. British lightweight engineering with Japan’s finest.

If you want to own this one-of-a-kind rarity, it is currently up for sale and is priced at 12.1 million Yen (about AU$124,823). Head over to the listing here for more details.
