BMW is expanding its 1 Series lineup in Australia with the addition of the 118 Sport Sport Collection. It offers more value over the regular model.
The 1 Series is the latest of a range of ‘Sport Collection’ models, aimed at increasing value and exclusivity. Being based on the 118 means it is already based on the most affordable BMW on sale.
As standard, it comes with metallic paint, available in a range of colours, along with a panoramic glass roof. And that’s it. It’s not much but if you’re in the market for a 1 Series – or a small premium hatch for that matter – this could be a nifty option… without paying for the options.
Powering the latest 118 is a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol three-cylinder engine, now producing 115kW and 230Nm. That’s up from 103kW in the previous model with the same engine. BMW claims 0-100km/h in 8.5 seconds, although, we recently timed one with a Vbox in 7.95 seconds (video here).
The M Sport pack comes as standard in Australia, adding various sporty highlights to the exterior, unique 18-inch alloy wheels, and various trimmings inside such as an M Sport steering wheel. Adaptive M sports suspension is also included.
Other highlight features include Verganza upholstery, twin digital screens running across the dash on one curved panel, and heated and power-adjustable front seats.
The 2025 BMW 118 Sport Collection is on sale in Australia now, with prices starting from $64,900 drive-away. For reference, the regular 118 M Sport starts from $58,100 (or about $63,699 including on-road costs in NSW). Metallic colours are normally a $1308.
