BMW has reported its global sales figures for 2025, and it looks like it will remain as the best-selling premium vehicle brand out of the top three German big-hitters (Audi and Mercedes-Benz are yet to report figures).
BMW Group posted 2,463,715 sales globally in 2025, up 0.5 per cent on 2024 efforts. However, BMW brand sales, specifically, contributed 2,169,761 units, which is down 1.4 per cent on the previous year.

Zooming into the different brands and sub-brands, BMW M (includes M Performance models) made up 55,286 sales, which is up 3.3 per cent on 2024 efforts. In fact, the X3 M50 M Performance model was the best-selling BMW model outright in 2025.
MINI contributed 288,290 sales in 2025 (up 17.7 per cent on 2024), while Rolls-Royce added 5664 sales (down 0.8 per cent). BMW Group fully electric vehicles made up 442,072 units (up 3.6 per cent).
In Australia, the BMW brand posted 26,842 sales in 2025. That’s up 1.9 per cent, and enough to claim top spot against Audi (16,014 units), Lexus (14,561), and Mercedes-Benz (22,850).

The best-selling model locally was the X1, contributing 5306 sales, followed by the X3 with 4909 units, and then the X5 with 3673 sales. Although its fully electric models made up 18 per cent of global sales, in Australia, BMW EVs made up 19.3 per cent of total sales, with 5187 units.
For BMW Group Australia, 2025 was its most successful year ever, with MINI also celebrating a record year and adding 5485 units to total deliveries (up 38 per cent on 2024).
BMW Australia attributes its success to its diverse product range and “technology openness” philosophy, basically meaning it offers combustion engines, hybrids and fully electric options across most of its range.
