2025 Audi A5 & S5 now on sale in Australia, price from $79,900

Audi Australia is introducing the 2025 A5 and S5 lineup, bringing in a fresh design language, more advanced tech, and enhanced driving dynamics, with both sedan and wagon formats confirmed.

The new model also signals a reshuffling of Audi’s nomenclature, with the A5 nameplate now covering what was previously split between the A4 and A5 models. Built on the brand’s Premium Platform Combustion (PPC), the new-generation A5 range carries the torch from Audi’s long-standing B-series lineage, which stretches back over 50 years to the original Audi 80.

Kicking off the range is the A5 45 TFSI S line, powered by a 150kW/340Nm 2.0-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder backed by a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission. It blends respectable performance with comfort, and comes standard with matrix LED headlights, digital key, and a 14.5-inch OLED centre display and 11.9-inch virtual cockpit.

Sitting at the top of the range are the performance-focused S5 sedan and S5 Avant, both fitted with a 270kW turbocharged V6 and quattro all-wheel drive system. Acceleration across 0–100km/h takes just 4.5 seconds. These also feature a mild-hybrid system for improved efficiency.

Key features include adaptive S sports suspension, ventilated and massaging seats, and an immersive 3D Bang & Olufsen audio system. An exclusive S5 edition one variant – available in both sedan and wagon form – celebrates the launch with black styling accents, unique alloy wheels, and distinctive Dinamica-trimmed interiors.

Jeff Mannering, director of Audi Australia, said: “These vehicles epitomise Audi’s progressive spirit, setting new standards within the premium segment and offering Australian customers a truly compelling proposition in terms of technology, design, and dynamic driving experience.”
